This handmade rune pendant has been shaped from terracotta clay and imprinted with the Wunjo rune, the eighth in the Elder Futhark Viking runic alphabet. It is a simple unisex necklace, the rune pendant measures 2.5 cm in length, about the size of a large thumb print.
After firing in the kiln, it has been glazed using a green blue lead free glaze called Iceberg and then returned to the kiln for a final firing. The colour allows the terracotta to show through, resulting in a wonderfully rustic, primitive finish.
It hangs from a brown waxed cotton cord with a lobster claw closure.
Wunjo's energy is that of joy and happiness and relates to a state of peace and contentment. It's gift is the clearing of despair to reveal happiness, a joyful uncomplicated happiness.
